today is monday

yesterday was sunday.

yesterday i had the great honor of taking over as dj from cujo for the 8'clock hour up at kfjc.~
  • the playlist
    • ~ This was like, totally for reals. i signed in as chief operator, put my name in place of "george foothill" and went to work. at one point, i thought i was going to run out of music, but luckily, kfjc has so much .
  • current stuff
    • (current meaning new to kfjc, not necessarily new to the world) right at our fingertips, you can always find something. i got through it, and now a cdr of my aircheck is being reviewed by the programming director, so keep your fingers crossed that she doesn't find me to be a total hack, mkay?

    in the afternoon, i took advantage of the gorgeous day, and went on a little photography excursion. i have a landscape and architecture assignment due next week, so i wanted to get inspired. san jose is very much lacking in inspirational content, but i was able to shoot almost an entire roll anyway. i guess we'll see!

    • was really great, but john fogerty's "green river"? um, i'm pretty sure the theme song was joe cocker's version of "(i get by) with a little help from my friends". at any rate, the author is so right. put that shit out on dvd already!

    a pop culture project has been brewing in my head. i'm a total movie whore. i'm not even sure how many i own, but there are many. i bet i could watch 1 movie per day for an entire year. so the project goes like this : 1) i watch a different movie every day. 2) i write a little paragraph about why i bought the movie, if i really like it or not, and if it's worth keeping 3) get rid of the stinkers. i just know i'm going to find a bunch that i can't believe or even remember that i own.

    Cinequest Film Festival is taking over Downtown San Jose as we speak, and last night I went to the California Theatre to check out Tenacious DTour , a documentary that followed the D on their world tour in support of The Pick of Destiny . A funny thing happened when my friend and I went to pick out seats. We ended up sitting right next to Kyle Gass and his girlfriend. for those of you who aren't familiar with who he is, he's the other guy in the band who's not Jack Black. We had our momentary silent freak out when we realized it was him, at which point I quietly leaned over and told him he was awesome. He quietly thanked me, and normalcy was restored until a few kids came over asking for autographs. He obliged but soon realized the mini pencil he was given to sign with wasn't going to work.     awaiting the arrival of the great pumpkin

    happy halloween everyone! tonight is the night that all of the little ones have been waiting for all year. i remember being going trick or treating as a kid and the smell of mixed candies and pillowcases, the stomach ache you'd get from consuming 1/2 your bagworth an hour after you'd get home, and protecting what was left of your stash from the hungry hands of those around you. I used to hide a lot of my candy, and then forget about it and find it a year later, gooey and stuck to a notebook in the back of my closet. Now that i am older, however, my halloween usually takes place at a party the weekend before the big day.
