ack. i'm falling apart

i finally caught the cold my family has been passing amongst themselves for the last month

then, my lower back stress thingie popped up again. let me explain. every now and then my lower back gets all tense and sore. it makes it near impossible to pick things up off the ground or bend down to do anything, plus it's painful to get up once i have been sitting, or to sit down when i've been standing. this little bitch strikes without warning, usually lasts about a week, and painkillers don't help.

i am someone who doesn't get sick very often, so when i do, it's like the end of the world :( i do have a few things to be happy about, though.

i'm almost a real dj! yesterday, i did 1/2 hour by myself during the show with cujo. aside from a rocky start ( i couldn't hear anything in the headset and totally panicked!) i think it went well. i chose the

    • (the playlist is credited to "george foothill" that is the generic name given to someone who logs into the system without an official username and password), did the station breaks, and pressed the buttons. he even left me in there alone! i never thought when i began training on new year's eve that i would ever feel confident enough to do it by myself, but now i can see things coming together. i still need a TON of practice, but i'm worlds away from where i was in the beginning, plus, i'm being exposed to so much amazing music in the process. i'm just over the moon :) a big thank you to cujo once again for everything..... i *heart*

    • . i'm almost caught up to season 3. i know jim and pam still aren't together, but really that is one of the things that make this show so great. oh the anticipation! everyone on the show, even to the smallest supporting player, is fantastic!

    it's supposed to be around 72 degrees today. i want to lay in the sun :)

    Cinequest Film Festival is taking over Downtown San Jose as we speak, and last night I went to the California Theatre to check out Tenacious DTour , a documentary that followed the D on their world tour in support of The Pick of Destiny . A funny thing happened when my friend and I went to pick out seats. We ended up sitting right next to Kyle Gass and his girlfriend. for those of you who aren't familiar with who he is, he's the other guy in the band who's not Jack Black. We had our momentary silent freak out when we realized it was him, at which point I quietly leaned over and told him he was awesome. He quietly thanked me, and normalcy was restored until a few kids came over asking for autographs. He obliged but soon realized the mini pencil he was given to sign with wasn't going to work.     awaiting the arrival of the great pumpkin

    happy halloween everyone! tonight is the night that all of the little ones have been waiting for all year. i remember being going trick or treating as a kid and the smell of mixed candies and pillowcases, the stomach ache you'd get from consuming 1/2 your bagworth an hour after you'd get home, and protecting what was left of your stash from the hungry hands of those around you. I used to hide a lot of my candy, and then forget about it and find it a year later, gooey and stuck to a notebook in the back of my closet. Now that i am older, however, my halloween usually takes place at a party the weekend before the big day.
