christmas ala goo-gal

google christmas partyso emily and i attended the google christmas party. it had it all : people dressed in everything from jeans and t-shirts to tuxedos and evening gowns, 2 rooms, one with a dj, one with a live band, virtual reality games, video games, a variety of ethnic foods and desserts, all the beer and wine you could handle, and 2 photo stations. We debated when to hit the photo booth, and how to pose once there. We mingled between the two rooms for almost 3 hours when we headed back to the room with the live band. All at once i hear it, and my idea for our picture finally becomes clear: the band was playing "jump!" by van halen. emily and i ran over to the photo station. our first attempt at poetry in motion doesn't take, so the photographer asks us to take another one. i thought he wanted us to not be so goofy, but then he prompted us,
"no, JUMP!" so we did, and another classic moment was born :)

I get up, and nothing gets me down.
You got it tough. I've seen the toughest around.
And I know, baby, just how you feel.
You've got to roll with the punches to get to what's real

Oh can't you see me standing here,
I've got my back against the record machine
I ain't the worst that you've seen.
Oh can't you see what I mean ?

Might as well jump. Jump !
Might as well jump.
Go ahead, jump. Jump !
Go ahead, jump.

Aaa-ohh Hey you ! How said that ?
Baby how you been ?
You say you don't know, you won't know
until we begin.

Well can't you see me standing here,
I've got my back against the record machine
I ain't the worst that you've seen.
Oh can't you see what I mean ?

Might as well jump. Jump !
Go ahead, jump.
Might as well jump. Jump !
Go ahead, jump.

(keyboard solo)

Might as well jump. Jump !
Go ahead, jump.
Get it and jump. Jump !
Go ahead, jump.

- jump, van halen
