without a pair of glasses on my face i feel lost. like something is missing. it's as if i'm not quite myself. I have been wearing glasses since the second grade, and after a nearly 5 year hiatus from contact lenses, I finally got the proper eye exam using conacts requires, and ordered a couple of boxes. I mostly did it so that I could wear sunglasses on sunny days. I have been buying various pairs of sunglasses over the years in the hope that one day i would go back to contacts and be able to use them. eyewear for me is as much about fashion as it is function, so having just a pair or two won't do. At last count, I own at least 10 pairs of sunglasses and 5 pairs of fashion frames, along with my very stylish perscription glasses. a few days after getting the contacts and ordering new glasses, I couldn't help but model my way through my sunglass and fasion frame collection. people at work kept asking me if each pair were my new glasses (which hadn't yet come back from...

Welchel has never recorded another album. the dirty 30 came and went. unexpected hiccups. my spirit not bent. the family and friends i have simply made it the best, coming to my rescue with every last minute request. The evite for my dirty 30 blonde ambition birthday party, which was to take place at my family's beach house in Capitola went out the first week of February, with an event date of Saturday March 26th, 2011. As the weeks passed, and the rsvp's came rolling in, I was starting to plan, buy things, and obsessively check the weather reports to make sure that everything would more or less go according to plan. In the last week these things have happened -a ghost came to me in my dream. i believe it was my father. he was standing over my bed, then he laid down next to me and held my hand. it felt like his, massive and strong with half of his pointer finger missing. -today after a quick look at my closet, I decided to wear my brian wilson jersey. today is his birthday. I had no idea. things do happen the way they are supposed to. if you feel a strong connection to someone, it's probably for a reason. if you get the feeling you've been there before, I believe there is a good chance you have. I have no concrete proof of any of this. it's just a feeling.....

a staple of my youth is most likely closing it's doors after nearly 35 years of roller bouncing bliss. CalSkate of Milpitas will be sold and developed into generic overpriced housing, and myself and all fellow local skate rink enthusiasts are beside ourselves. I frequented this place all through my younger years, even up into high school, so I am taking this one hard. Red tape will see this place open for at least the next two years, so I intend on making the most of the place while it's still open. wed retro night skate is the best deal, but at this point any night will do. VIVA LA QUAD SKATES!!

do you think you're what they say you are? i do what an amazing live performance. raw, powerful, and inspiring. peaches kinda blew my mind last night at the herbst theatre in san francisco. an intimate venue, it was the perfect setting for this minimal and mezmerizing piece of theatre. 1 singer. 1 piano player. i intermission 2 hours. i was completely enthralled and energized. well done, peach.

seeing this story from a few very reliable gossip sources this morning made me grin from ear to ear. it's always nice to see two people who seem so in love be able to work through their past and come out stronger on the other side. my love of all things p!nk is a tad on the obsessive side, but i'm not gonna be ashamed. i am damn happy for her and her hubby. if this is true, your kid is going to be a total badass, just like you two :)

as someone who considers themselves to be a photo enthusiast, it has been an unbelivable 3+ years since i have owned a digital camera. my last one was "lost" in a traumatic wedding incident that is still far to painful to discuss....*sob* *sob* okay. now that i've collected myself enough to continue, I will say that after a recent experience the best coast show in san francisco I attended with my friend sera, where i snatched her cannon out of her hands and began feverishly shooting, i need one. bad. it has been far too long since I have taken pictures like a damn fool. let's change that soon, self. okay?
